New paper examines academic mobility
- 19 February 2015
A recent working paper from the Drivers and Dynamics of High-Skilled Migration project studies the mobility of Indian academics.
Globalisation and economic integration has further internationalised higher education, but to date, there has been little attention paid to the mobility of academics.
They find there is a strong importance of past career steps in facilitating future career opportunities and mobility for Indian academics. For instance, excellent grades in high-school and/or international experience as a student seem to be pre-conditions for later academic employment abroad.
