New perspective on migration & economic prospect

A new article “Migration and Economic prospects” by Mathias Czaika was recently published in the Journal for Ethnic and Migration Studies (JEMS).
In the article Mathias Czaika introduces a new theoretical perspective on migration decision-making processes, the ‘migration prospect theory’. This theory explains short-term shifts in migration flows due to changes in people's expectations of future economic prospects. The paper is based on a study of European migration inflows to Germany between 2001 and 2010.
