Migration: COMPAS Anthology
- 28 February 2014
The Centre on Migration, Policy and Society at the University of Oxford have published a migration anthology to coincide with its ten year anniversary. The anthology includes contributions by IMI's Hein de Haas and Robin Cohen.
IMI Co-Director, Hein de Haas, examines the simple yet difficult question 'why do people migrate' in his contribution. Hein argues that migration has always been – and will remain – an inevitable part of the human experience.
Professor Robin Cohen emphasises in his piece, the importance of connecting ‘culture’ and migration. As culture and migration have become folded into each other in forms of social behaviour, the arrival of cultural analysis into migration studies is somewhat overdue.
