Patrick Chamoiseau is an important Martinican writer and thinker, who is particularly well-known for his role in the creolité movement, a movement that sought to promote the creole – hybrid – identity of the French Antilles. In the interview, Chamoiseau comments on the evolution of the terms creole, creolization and, more pertinently relation, by which he refers to the complex interconnectedness of the contemporary world.
