A timely policy seminar for students with speakers from the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior

This policy seminar and discussion will address Austria’s policy responses to the inflows of refugees and migrants over the past couple of years. Austria has in recent months taken a number of policy measures aimed at  ‘regulating’ the inflow and transit-migration of refugees. Some of these policy measures have been highly controversial both in and outside Austria. This seminar will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the context, motivation and effects of these and other policies with senior-policy makers working for the Austrian government. The seminar will include about 40 minutes of 'presentation' of the core policy questions and challenges followed by discussion with the audience.

This event should be of particular interest to students and researchers working on issues related to migration and asylum in Europe.
