Following the previous two African Migrations Workshops held in 2007 (Ghana) and 2008 (Morocco), this workshop brought together researchers to:

  • Evaluate and enrich the contribution of African research to migration theory.
  • Enhance global knowledge of African migrations.
  • Support the development of empirical research which is better connected with international theoretical debates.
  • Provide a unique opportunity for participants from Africa and elsewhere to strengthen their scientific networks within and outside the continent, across the boundaries of linguistic and scholarly traditions.
