Valentin Danchev
Valentin Danchev is a Doctoral Research Student at the International Migration Institute. The title of his research proposal is: 'Interplaying Migrations: Exploring Spatial-Temporal Interactions of Migration Flows from a Multi-Level Perspective (The Case of African-European Mobility)', and he is supervised by Hein de Haas.

Research focus
Valentin is interested in migration theory, with a particular focus on the spatial and temporal understanding of migration flows, both internal and international, and the interplay of multi-level forces involved in migration processes.
Current IMI projects
Valentin works on the DEMIG project (‘Determinants of International Migration’).
Background
Valentin holds an MA in Sociological Research (University of Essex) and a BA/MA in Sociology (Sofia University, Bulgaria). He has carried out research on Bulgarian skilled migration in the UK from a social network perspective. Prior to joining the DEMIG team, he held a position as assistant professor at Sofia University and collaborated in numerous research projects.
